<guide type="general,tools,color,metal,diffuse,disp,ao,other-maps" title="Seamlessly Tiling">

<step title="Select Map Editor">
<cmd type="nextActive" ed="*" />

<p>The Tiling Synth tool creates a seamlessly tiling version of an image, by analyzing its features and their underlying pattern.</p>

<p>Start by choosing the map type you want to tile by selecting its editor in the tabs above the Editor area.</p>

<p>If you want to tile from a generic photo, the {PBR?Base Color|Diffuse} editor can be used as it supports sRGB inputs.</p>

</step>

<step title="Open the Tiling Synth Tool">
<!--cmd type="activate" tool="PixGen" /-->

<p>After selecting the editor, open the image that you wish to tile.</p>

<p>Select the Tiling Synth tool near the bottom of the Map Tools area.</p>

<p>Click the Seed Image drop menu and select "Use Current Map".</p>

<p>This will use the current map as the Seed Image to generate a tiling version of itself.</p>

</step>

<step title="Generate a Tiling Map">

<p>Click the Generate button at the bottom of the Tiling Synth tool.</p>

<p>Generation starts and after a while a tiling version of the original map will be ready.</p>

<p>You can better see the tiling at the edges of the image if you enable the Tiling Preview switch at the bottom.</p>

<p>If you're not happy with the generated image, try clicking Generate again as each synthesized image is unique.</p>

</step>

<step title="Seed Wizard">

<p>However if the texture is still not tiling correctly, you may need to help PixPlant. This is a job for the Seed Wizard: click the button with this label to open it.</p>

<p>The Seed Wizard window is where you help PixPlant create a better tiling of the Seed Image. This is done in two steps: straightening the image and defining its pattern (if any).</p>

<p>In the first step of the wizard, you should move the four handles at the left so that the mapped image at the right is straightened, that is, as aligned as possible with the image sides.</p>

<p>Clicking Next, the Seed Wizard advances to the Pattern selection step. If the elements in the image form a pattern, you'll need to help PixPlant understand its grid. For example, if the Seed Image is an image of a brick wall, the pattern would be a group of bricks that repeat themselves across the image. However if the image has no observable pattern, just click No Pattern at the bottom.</p>

<p>Click Finish to return to the Tiling Synth tool.</p>

<p>Hit the Generate button and PixPlant should now be able to generate better results.</p>

</step>

<step title="Unwanted Parts">

<p>If you'd like to generate without including a part of the Seed Image, click in the Seed Viewer (the viewer above the Seed Wizard button) to out-select one or more rectangles which won't be used for generating. Take care to leave enough areas left for PixPlant to be able to do its work.</p>

<p>After out-selecting, press the Generate button to see the results.</p>
